Jonah's Surgery Take Two!
So Jonah had to have his adenoids taken out, and the tubes in his ears redone. He just had them put in 7 months ago. Hopefully this will help the little guy feel better. He has had a rough few months. It was pretty minor surgery, but still surgery and kind of scary. It is hard not letting a 16month old eat, or drink anything 10 hours prior to the surgery.
This was taken before his surgery.
He was just walking around checking things out in the room.

This picture was taken after they gave him a "loopy" drug. I have to say it was very creepy seeing you child out of it like that. He had droopy eyes, and would just start laughing at times. The surgery lasted 30 minutes, and he had to have an IV and a breathing tube put in during the surgery. The hardest part I have to say was the recovery time. He had to stay in recovery for 30 minutes. Jeff and I couldn't be back their. He was only about 30 feet away from us, and we could hear him crying, and screaming. It was awful! You could hear in his cry that his throat hurt. For some reason he had to stay back their for the 30 minutes. The whole time we could hear his cries. It broke my heart to not be able to comfort him. You knew he was confused, and in pain, and only strangers in front of him. Then the wheeled him back in this huge hospital bed. He was so small.
This was after they brought him back, and let me hold him. You can tell he was crying by how puffy his eyes were. As soon as I got him in my arms he fell asleep. This whole thing also filled me with such gratitude. I was grateful it was so minor. I think of all those families that have to go through so much worse. When our children are so little they just seem so frail. My friends son was recently in the hospital for a few weeks. One night she heard an 8 month old baby just crying. It was around midnight. After a while she went to find a nurse to see if someone was with the baby. The nurses said the baby didn't have anyone with him, and all the volunteers that come and be with him had gone home. She asked if she could hold him, and they told her no because she was a registered volunteer. Here was this little baby who was sick and all alone in the hospital. I feel truly blessed it was so minor, and we could be their for him. At the same time I pray it works this time, and the little guy starts to feel better.

My Baby's Baptism Day
What a special day. I can't believe it has come and gone already. Mckinley got baptized on Saturday with her cousin Hallie in Rexburg. How neat to be able to be baptized with her cousin who lives in Colorado, and her in South Carolina. Our whole family was able to be their for it. I still can't believe she is old enough, but it was a wonderful day.

Why can't getaway's be stress free?
So most of you know I am in Idaho visiting my family for a month. I don't get to see them that often, but it never fails that when I do someone gets sick, or something happens. I had to take Jonah to the Dr. on Monday because he has been crabby since we got here. Well he has an ear infection, and throat infection. He still isn't up to par, but hopefully getting there. Well yesterday morning my mom had to take me to the ER for a severe migraine. It is one thing to get a migraine, but another to get one when you husband is 3,000 miles away, your mom has to be to the temple to work in 2 hours, and you dad has his arm in a sling from shoulder surgery, and you still have 3 young children who are just waking up when you get home from the hospital. So I really had no rest for the weary. Not to mention when we got home from the hospital I hit my toe on my mom's foot stool, and pretty sure I broke my middle toe. Oh well hopefully we have filled our drama quota, and will be good for the rest of the trip. (Knock on Wood) Other than that we have been having a great time. I love the just being in Idaho and Utah. It just really feels my soul. We miss Jeff a lot and can't wait until he come out in a couple of weeks. I can't believe Mckinley will be getting baptized in two weeks also. I feel to young to have such a grown up daughter.

Even I like the quite & please pray for our friends.
Ok so most everyone knows I am a talker. Hey it is the talent I was given so I use it well. Well I am just enjoying the peace and quite right now. The kids are at the pool with their cousin, and the baby is sleeping. I just hear the sounds that the house makes. Oh so nice :). I am also asking if you read this would you please keep some friends of ours in your prayers. My best friend from Idaho son is gravely ill, and has been in the hospital for almost 3 weeks. They are still trying to find out what exactly is wrong with him. He is only 5 and is as tall as Mckinley and weighs probably 10 less than Landon. Needless to say he doesn't have a lot he can lose. He has had more test, and painful things done in those 3 weeks then most of us will have in a lifetime. Also Jeff's friend and his wife both have cancer, and have two young boys at home. I sit hear and wonder how such trying things can happen to such good people. Especially both of them at the same time. I know the Lord is always mindful of us, but it does make one scratch their head sometimes. I figure the more people praying for them the better. Thanks so much. Well quite time is over the baby is up :).

KEITH URBAN CAN I SING WITH YOU? WHY YES YOU CAN!
Ok I am totally in love with my husband, and think he is fantastic, and don't think of Keith in that way at all. However, I really do love me some Keith Urban. He is a fantastic performer and I love watching him in concert, and it does make me do some crazy things. Susan and I had such a fantastic time at his last concert, we didn't know what to expect, but it got 100 times better. We switched tickets like 5 times, but we got ourselves to the floor for less money then what we were going to pay. We were able to get the front, and totally had Sugarland point us out and talk about our posters we made. If you see an youtube videos the neon yellow poster you always see would be me. Sugarland during their performance talked to us like 3 times. Then Keith come out he saw the poster and pointed and smiled. We got to touch his shoe, and pant leg. Crazy such a silly thing would make two married mothers so happy. It was his last song, and we found a stool he sang on underneath by where we were standing. Keith threw a pick and it land in the middle of the catwalk. No one could reach it, and it was about five feet from me. So I climbed on the stool, and crawled my big bum in front of over 15,000 people, and got the pick. When I got up to go back to where I was Keith came down to me, and bumped me. I turned screamed I am sure in his face. Yelled at Susan to get the camera, which didn't work. Gave Keith a hug, then followed him to the mic where security came and grabbed me. Well Keith wasn't having that so he motioned that it was ok for me to stay. I sang something in the mic don't know what. Another girl then climbed on the stage and security grabbed her, and I knew my time was up so I turned and jumped back down 5 1/2 half. Not the smartest thing to do, but I got to hug and sing with Keith Urban!!! Oh it was fantastic. How I wish we have TiVo in our real lives so we could replay certain things. After the concert we got to meet two band members Brian, and Jerry we talked to them for at least 30 minutes, and we met Brad before the concert. What an amazing night!!! Jonah....Gotta love him!!!
Jonah has this thing where he use to hold on to the front of my shirt, and put his fingers just inside of the shirt. He use to do it to anyone who was holding him when his was tired. Well now whenever I hold him he sticks his whole arm down the front of my shirt no matter where we are. It is cute at home, but not when were are out and about. I took the kids to the dentist today, and had to hold Jonah the whole time. Well needless to say everyone got a kick out of him having his arm down my shirt. I am so use to it now I don't even notice it harldy, but I need to because today he kept exposing a little to much when he had his arm down my shirt. It's a good thing he is so cute.
We are trying to cut back on his pacifer time. This was taken right after I took it away, and told him he didn't need it.

Trophies
What is about when we do something we want to be rewarded in some way. I am not saying everyone, but I know I am guilt of it as well. I admit when I go something nice, or go out of my way I enjoy the thanks that comes with it. Well my kids are the same way. Mckinley just finsihed her 3rd year of dance. This last year has been a little tough. There were a lot of times she didn't want to go, or do it. After three years you get a trophey which kept her going. We even offered to buy her a trophey and let her quit. It would be cheaper in the long run, but no she wanted to get her trophey in front of everyone.
Well she finally got her trophey, and did a great job at her recital, but as soon as she got that trophey she said she was ready to try something different.
This was Landon's first year playing on a soccer team. He has taken soccer camps before. The only thing he said all seasons was he couldn't wait until the end when he got his trophey. It was all he talked about. We weren't even sure if he was going to get one, but prayed he would because he would be broken hearted.
They were practicing kicking the ball at the goalie, and the coach was wondering why nobody would get down on the ground to try to stop the ball. Well Landon raised his hand and said he would do it. The coach turns her back to talk to the other kids, and when she turns around she hears Landon say, "I'm ready coach let them kick the ball at me." Well he was already laying down in front of the goal with his hands reaching as far out as the could, and his toes pointed trying to cover as much as the goal as he could with his body. All you could do is laugh. That is not what the coach meant, but Landon wanted her to know he was up for the challenge.
We went to his last game and they didn't have the tropheys. You would think his world was going to end. They said they would be done in two days. So everyday I heard, "Do I get my trophey today?" Well it two weeks not two days, but Landon finally got his trophey on Saturday, and he loves it so much he has to sleep with it. If you ask Mckinley and Landon what was the best thing about dance & soccer they would say their TROPHIES. To be honest I can't really blame them at their age I am sure I would have been the same way.
